Cataract Evaluations & Referrals
Cataracts cause a clouding of the lens in the eye, making your vision appear to be foggy. Cataracts are the most common cause of vision loss in people over 40 and are the leading cause of blindness in the world.
Your eyes are meant to naturally adjust to normal light changes, adjust focus, and allow us to see both near and far. Your lens is primarily made up of water and proteins. The proper arrangement of these proteins is what contributes to normal vision. Some of these proteins clump together forming a clouding of the lens.

HEDIS guided Comprehensive Eye Exams
Medical Centers and Primary Care Physicians many times have to follow a standard of practice guided by the government or by Health Management Organizations (HMO’s), this standard is most commonly referred to as HEDIS guidelines. Our bilingual Optometric Physicians are
trained and experienced in following HEDIS guidelines to ensure Medical Centers and Physician offices receive the highest level of satisfaction in the requirements. Meanwhile the multidisciplinary Medical Centers and Physician offices benefit from the addition of one of the most important aspects of total complete care which is professional comprehensive eye care.

Mobile Comprehensive Eye Exams
On average, we recommend comprehensive eye exams once a year to ensure your eyes are remaining healthy. If you have been diagnosed with an eye condition, however, we recommend eye exams more frequently than once a year, depending on the severity of your eye condition.
During your appointment, we will review patient history, visual acuity, perform preliminary tests, measure eye pressure and a dilated fundus exam of the inside of the eye to evaluate the overall eye health.

Diabetic Comprehensive Eye Care
Diabetes can affect more than just your blood sugar. It can cause many problems in the eye, most commonly, early onset of cataracts, hemorrhages inside the eye in the retina, swelling of tissue withing the eye and if not treated on time it could lead to blindness. Diabetes is an epidemic in the U.S. and mostly in Hispanic and Black populations. If you suffer from diabetes, it is recommended to have an eye exam at least once a year, and if there is an early onset of eye diseases related to diabetes, then the earlier it is detected the more chances you have of preserving your vision.

Portable Digital Retina Imaging
Using a digital camera system, our optometrists at Mobile Vision Doctors can clearly see and examine your retina, located at the back of your eye. This examination is critical to monitoring the health of your eye as well as to the early detection of many medical problems. The pictures generated through retinal imaging help us identify problems with your vision and can also help diagnose other medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, or even brain tumors.

Advanced Dry Eye Treatment & Punctum Plugs
Mobile Vision Doctors is proud to offer dry eye treatment for our patients. Ocular Surface Disease, also known as dry eye, can occur from certain medications, naturally by aging, or as a symptom arising from systemic diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, or Lupus. If you have a minor case of dry eye, you may be experiencing irritation, excessive tearing, fluctuating vision, and/or a burning sensation in your eyes. Excessive dry eyes, or dry eye symptoms that go untreated, have the potential to damage eye tissue, scar your corneas, and impair your vision.
One of the most reliable and permanent remedies for dry eye is punctum plugs. They are insertions that are placed in the punctum (a small drainage opening in the eye lid margins), the plugs are made of collagen or silicon. Our doctors are trained to safely and efficiently insert these special plugs, which in general reduce dry eye discomfort by 75% to 90% in one treatment.

Glaucoma Treatment & Comprehensive Testing
Glaucoma occurs from damage to the eye’s optic nerve and can often lead to loss of vision and blindness. To detect glaucoma, our highly trained doctors will perform a proper comprehensive exam to determine if there is damage to the optic nerve, if glaucoma is detected our Optometric Physicians are highly trained to help you manage and treat your glaucoma.
Early detection of glaucoma is crucial in preventing vision loss and blindness; the earlier the better. However, there is no official cure for glaucoma. We offer an array of portable equipment which we use in facilities to test the level and progress of glaucoma such as new revolutionary Virtual Visual Field testing, Pachymeters, top of the line digital portable instruments to check the intra ocular pressure, optic nerve comparison imaging, gonioscopy and portable retina scanners.

Macular Degeneration Monitoring & Control
Macular degeneration is a deterioration of the central portion of the retina, the inside layer of the eye that records the images we see and sends them through the optic nerve from the eye to the brain for processing. The macula, or the center of the retina, is responsible for focusing central vision in the eye and controls our ability to see and process information. Macula Degeneration can become exudative ‘wet’ and vision loss can be rapid and accelerated. It is very important for all people suffering form Macular Degeneration to have eye exams at least 2 times a year to prevent rapid vision loss. Our doctors are specialists in guiding patient in a health diet and proper care of Macular degeneration to prevent vision loss.
